The East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) presents Svensk musik och dans (Swedish Music and Dance)

The East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) will present a special encore performance of Svensk musik och dans (Swedish Music and Dance), a cultural celebration of Swedish classical and folk music, featuring the Twin Cities Nyckelharpalag and the Twin Cities Swedish Folk Dancers, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the American Swedish Institute (ASI), 2600 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. Encore concert tickets are available in advance online through the ASI’s website, $10 ASI members and $15 general admission.

Arboretum Opens Wilcock Gallery Collection

Before the Wilcock Gallery in Excelsior closed in 2015, Keith Wilcock curated several shows a year at the Arboretum. In its more than 20 years of operation, the gallery frequently purchased pieces from artists’ shows for its private collection. Now this rare cache of original art is being shown together. Artists include Tom Foty, Andy Evansen, Ming Feng, Kai Liu,  Kate Starling and more.

For the sixth year, a group of artists around Lake Minnetonka will be opening their home studios to the public on Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6, 2018. It is a perfect time of year for people to enjoy a springtime drive, to discover inspiring and beautiful art, and to see first-hand the studios where artists create.

WBL Summerfest - with Martin Zellar

Summerfest is an outdoor concert event. We are in our 9th year producing a great evening of music, food, and drink to the White Bear Lake and surrounding communities. 

Bombshell: The Heady Lamar Story Film Premiere

PBS/American Masters feature film documentary BOMBSHELL:THE HEDY LAMARR STORY, produced by Susan Sarandon featuring interviews by Mel Brooks, Peter Bogdanovich, Robert Osborne and myself, along with Hedy’s colleagues and friends and family, is currently playing theatres nationally and internationally.  (It will air over PBS channels on May 18.) 

The new documentary, “Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story” is scheduled to start showing at a Minneapolis Landmark Theatre starting Friday, March 2nd, 2018 for one week.
