Midwinter Family Fun night is set for February 7.
Experience the joys of winter and wilderness at Belwin Conservancy this February. Visitors of all ages can expect guided hikes with naturalists, s’mores over a bonfire and stargazing with help from the Minnesota Astronomical Society. The Joseph J. Casby Observatory will be open throughout the event, allowing visitors to experience one of the biggest refractive telescopes in the state.

“Getting outside on winter evenings can feel so magical,” says Angie Eckel, Belwin Conservancy’s development and communications director. “This is one of my favorite opportunities to get outside with other families and explore the woods in the cold season.”

This event will be held from 5–7 p.m. on February 7 at Belwin Conservancy’s Educational Site in Afton. Jenny Hanlon, a parent, child and family educator at Stillwater Schools Early Childhood Family Education, will host two storytimes in the woods at 5:15 and 6 p.m. for young learners. Star-themed activities will be available alongside warm beverages at the Hilltop Classroom.
