As we age, our hair loses its shine and luster. What can you do?

As we age, our hair loses is shine and luster. The texture and density changes. It can thin, particularly at the crown and in the front of the hairline. It also loses its pigment. It can lack its typical bounce and just doesn’t style the same anymore. What can you do?

First, embrace it! Signs of age shows wisdom and a great life led.

But here are a few things to help your hair have more bounce and shine. Pick from a plethora of anti-aging shampoos, conditioners and scalp serums. Or ask your hair stylist for their expertise on products that help thicken hair and add the nutrients mature hair needs for moisture, shine and strength. My favorite is Olaplex. Although it isn’t specifically for hair growth and thickness, it really brings hair back to life. Get a professional Olaplex in-salon treatment and then also use the at-home treatment combined with the shampoo and conditioner.

Pre-styling products help protect hair from heat and UV rays. I recommend Primer by Two Redheads and a Wolf. It improves overall manageability while adding shine and protecting your hair color.

There are also hair filler products that give the illusion of thicker, fuller hair. Two great ones are Style Edit Fill FX and Derm Match. Both stay in place all day.

If you decide to color the grey, either completely or blend or enhance it, hair color adds shine and body.

And remember to eat healthy. A big reflection of your inner health will show in your hair, skin and nails. If your hair needs protein, biotin and collagen are wonderful supplements for the health and vitality of your hair, skin and nails.
