Stillwater resident Greg Schulz of Pictures Over Stillwater was leaving a preproduction meeting for the Opera On The River event when he spotted some hot air balloons taking off. With the help of a visual observer and familiarity with the area’s skies and obstacles, Schulz launched his drone and took this award-winning image, which he feels captures “the essence of a St. Croix River Valley calm summer evening.”
