A hobby photographer captures winter magic on a sunrise stroll along the St. Croix River.
Nikkita Berglind, of River Falls, Wisconsin, was walking around Lakefront Park in Hudson at sunrise when she came across a beautiful winter scene—a patch of folded grass gleaming in the morning light. “The light began to shine through, and I could see that every blade of grass was covered in sparkling ice,” Berglind says. “I had to get low to the ground to capture the refracted light and bokeh from the glittering frost.”
