Local small businesses are hosting a historic Dance Here event.
Main Street might be closed in downtown Stillwater, but businesses are still open! The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the city of Stillwater along with Leo’s Grill & Malt Shop, Mad Capper Saloon & Eatery, Stillwater Proper and Alchemy Sound and Vision for a historic party on August 5.
From noon to 10 p.m., the Dance Here event will take over Stillwater’s iconic Main Street with music and festivities. The main goal? Party like it’s 1901. Families and friends are invited to don their most extravagant hats and memorable outfits to recreate Frederick Holcolmbe’s photograph. Dress to impress because there will be judges and an award for both best hat and best outfit.
“This community has some amazing and creative people,” says Robin Anthony, president of the Chamber. “We are proud to work with these community leaders to bring this one-day event to our downtown Main Street.”
Photos will be taken at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
