At this event\, donated firearms are accepted\, disabled and made into garden tools\, jewelry and other art pieces. \nThe Guns to Gardens Planning Committee looks to forge peace by turning guns into garden tools. \nWhy: Many firearms are no longer wanted in the home for a variety of reasons. \n\nThere is concern that the firearm might fall into the hands of children or grandchildren in the home.\nThe gun may have been used in a suicide or accident.\nThe owner can no longer handle guns safely because of age or disability.\nA person inherited a gun but no longer wants it.
