First Place 2018 Activities & Events. Photo: Michael Huber

The community came together last summer for the Minnesota Orchestra’s Concert in the Park.

Each month we feature a photo from our last Lens on St. Croix Valley photo contest. This month, we asked photographer Michael Huber of Hudson, Wis. to tell us about his photo titled “Minnesota Orchestra Visits Hudson.”

What is your background in photography?
Being an architect, I was looking for another creative outlet as a hobby. I had always liked photography but really started to take it more seriously within the last 10 years.

What inspired this particular photograph?
It was a perfect night in Hudson when the Minnesota Orchestra came to visit. I wanted to capture the mood of the evening with the crowd and the sun setting on the St. Croix River behind the musicians.

What type of camera do you use?
My main camera is a Canon 7D Mark II and I also use a Fuji XT20.

What types of pictures do you typically take?
I love trying all types of photography but lately have been focusing on aerial and composite (illustrative) photography.

What prompted you to enter this image in our photo contest?
I wanted to share how lucky we are in Hudson to have such wonderful events!
