I absolutely loved Standard Deviation by Katherine Heiny. It’s hard to describe what makes it special; it’s quirky and brilliantly funny and heartwarming. Heiny is a rare talent that can pull off this level of humor while still being insightful and spot-on about love and family life and origami and raising a child with autism. This story is character-driven; don’t expect a complex plot. The cast jumps off the pages, especially Audra. Think of the person you know who has no filter and multiply that times 1,000 … that’s Audra. Grab this book and laugh out loud at the beach or poolside this summer!
